How to prepare for the examination
learn moreFor optimal imaging during your appointment, it's best to refrain from wearing any jewelry or clothing containing metallic elements such as clips, snaps, buttons, or zippers. These metal components can disrupt and interfere with the X-rays, leading to inaccurate imaging results.
You may be required to remove certain articles of clothing and put on a paper gown. Throughout the X-ray procedure, you will be asked to remain completely still while the test is being performed. The test itself is quick and usually lasts only a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the number of images required.
Following the completion of your X-ray, you may be requested to stay at the facility should additional images be necessary. Once you depart, feel free to resume your regular daily activities.
A radiologist typically examines and interprets the images before forwarding the report to your requested doctor. Your doctor will thoroughly explain and discuss the findings with you during your follow-up appointment.
