Children’s Policy
Patient and visitor safety is central to the care we provide. X-Ray, Bmd, mammography TechnologistsDESCRIPTION:
The Canadian Diagnostic Network (CDN) is Ottawa's trusted Radiology & Imaging services. Our focus centers on the patient and their family as we strive to meet their healthcare needs with personal attention and respect. Under the supervision of the Director(s) and Operations Coordinator(s), the x-ray technologist will be responsible for producing radiographs that provides maximum diagnostic information with the least amount of exposure to radiation, while providing maximum safety, privacy and confidentiality for the patient.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a recognized course in Medical Radiation Technology.
- Be an active member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
- Possess liability insurance (e.g. OAMRS)
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in English, spoken and written. French is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and courteously with all types of people.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ABILITIES (representative but not all inclusive):
- Must be able to work efficiently and independently.
- Ensure the proper functioning of the instruments and technical equipment. Ensure its maintenance and that the examination room is well maintained and supplied.
- Use the PACS systems to manipulate data and images following examinations and complete all necessary documentation for each patient.
- Adhere to infection control policies.
- Perform duties to maintain cleanliness of facility.
- Remain compliant with continuing education requirements of CMRITO.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Access patient capabilities and limitations and adjust as necessary.
- Ensure that the patient has been properly informed about the examination and have been informed about the nature of the study.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Required to lift and assist patients.
- Move or transport any equipment as necessary.
- Required to stand/sit for long periods of time.
- Be in close contact with patient during positioning portion of exam.

Under the supervision of the Director(s) and Operations Coordinator(s), the medical receptionist will be primarily responsible for greeting, scheduling, and registering patients, organizing paperwork, receiving directing, and replaying telephone/fax messages for an imaging center.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a recognized medical assistant program is recommended. Training from within the company organization will be provided.
- Intermediate proficiency in English, spoken and written. French is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and courteously with all types of people.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ABILITIES (representative but not all inclusive):
- Solid, professional interpersonal communication skills with patients, other staff, referring and reporting physician.
- Check patients in and update any changes in their file (demographic information) in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

- Experience in MSK ultrasound or willing to acquire certification.
- Current CPR certification.

- Intermediate proficiency in English, spoken and written. French is an asset.
